Welcome! I'm excited to finally share this website and what it means to me as an artist. For those of you who have followed and encouraged my journey with Letters + Light, thank you. The three full years under that name taught me much about how to maintain the magic of the creative process while operating a business. I am amazed how one small effort can grow so much and even allow me to work overseas. While in Paris I began reflecting on what's next for me. The more I considered using my own name, the more I fell in love with it.
Design and photography have two sides: one of business and one of expression. Although these facets intermingle (and to be clear, that is not a bad thing), I resonate moreso with the expressive side. Using my own name, associating myself with each client, and sharing more personal projects, feels very right.
In this process I was reminded of the beauty of rebranding; it's exciting for businesses and design to evolve with new trajectories. I am careful to not be so to-and-fro with the message my brand is speaking. No one needs to get confused by multiple names and statements. But when that time comes, I like to think of rebranding as simplifying. As I asked myself what was next, the answer became very obvious– be you. Here I am, Lindsay Cox! It was me all along anyway.
My passion, truly, is presenting people, ideas, businesses and brands in a way that moves people.
I largely operated in the wedding industry with Letters + Light, which I still love to do and will continue to do as my project schedule allows; however, a more complete list of what I do includes brand/logo development, website, paper and digital assets, as well as invitations and photographs. So, if you need creative direction, want to jazz up your website to stand out and be extra-pretty, or are looking for a new aesthetic for your small biz, I am all about it and would love to assist. I would be honored to show you off.
If you or a friend you know could benefit from any of these services, keep me in mind. Otherwise, let's just grab coffee/booze and chat. I love discussions about almost everything.
In The Alchemist, Paulo Coelho writes in the foreward: “But I never lost faith in the book or ever wavered in my vision. Why? Because it was me in there, all of me, heart and soul.” This is how I always want to feel when I design and photograph–and whatever else I get into. I plan to disclose more of the goings-on with me creatively. I personally love reading the stories of other artists and so I will contribute to the sharing. Take a look around, read, watch, comment, send me letters. Have fun.
